| I was just gathering my gear in Rabao to try my hand at Warrior again when I heard a distressed comment on the linkshell. 'That's not good' is never a good phrase to hear when a group of friends was in a very dangerous place. Especially when one of said friends was one of my boys. Thankfully, Eadwyn was at home that afternoon, napping before his big night of Monking around with his friends. Pausing in my browsing of the auction house, a few choice questions brought up the source of the problem. Poor Zee somehow managed to get herself knocked out just before the Holla Spire and there were no White Mages in sight. 'Not good' was putting it lightly.
Since I was already geared up for my warrior and had a bag full of tools to keep Utsusemi available, and myself relatively safe, I was quick to volunteer and help a rescue team make it to the top. What really pleased me was that so many others were willing to drop what they were doing and rush out to save our fallen friend! In a matter of minutes, and a few teleports by our lovely Mage friends, a group of about eight of us had gathered and were ready to follow the tail through the Emptiness. Beanie's tracking skills have never failed to amaze me, and today was no exception, as she successfully lead us to the correct portal on each level, making the journy quick and painless.
At least, until the end. Poor Beanie got stuck eating dirt for a while not far from the Spire, but we managed to get what we came for, regardless! Zee was revived and patched up, and then sent off to, unfortunately, die again in facing the fiend that dwells within the Spire itself. That was unpleasant, but it's good they were allowed the chance to at least try.
Getting Beanie back up was quite a bit of fun as well! Poor Nif discovered the Thinkers can apparently hear you, where most of the Empty are deaf. As per usual, Chipo desided to be the ballsy Taru that he is and risk getting in a Tractor to get Beanie someplace safe. Or, at least, I think that's what happened. Niala and I had been trying to distract one of the monsters and I managed to barely get away with my life once my shadows went down, and so sat with Thistle and Cydori in the Spire while the rescue went on. Ah well, I tried!
By the way, Cydori is one brave little Dragoon, I'm so proud of her! She went through the whole place in nothing but fishing gear, a subligar, and her halberd. Same with Thistle, that crazy-ass Dark Knight, who came in with nothing on but Leaping Boots and his scythe. That, my friends, takes some serious guts. Or trust in your friends, one way or the other.
That was the highlight of my day! I managed to train a bit more with my axes, but retired early to take care of poor Draque, who wasn't feeling well. I keep telling him he needs to eat more than pies and cookies! That's not healthy. |

Beanie > Ehehehe.. I've had some half baked ideas for trying to get to the top of the tower, but I'm not sure how many of them are still feasible from when I first thought of them (when Promy was a lot different). Things like Duo'ing to the top with a SMN and someone with a ranged weapon. The idea was that a free Carby (or close to free, juice could fix it?) kill the MR while the ranged weapon person kill Strays and takes shots at the MR as the could. (Not so feasible now since you can't stand at max range of the MR anymore and hope to hit it. I was getting my tail handed to me on the way up 'cause I had to be within Empty Seed distance and it was spamming that every 5~ seconds and it'd interrupt my aim before I could set up to hit the MR.. then another Empty Seed would nail me.) </babble> (08/08 10:12)
