Campaign(open)10/03/28 16:01(69)
So, I'd heard from Beanie and Neresh that campaign battling has become even less fun on the new server. Sure enough, my first battle out was short/overpopulated, but with (at least) one mob pulled waaaaay off so some asshat could solo it. I cleaned out my blist with the merge, but it didn't stay empty for long -.-. Making it worse (to me, anyway), it seems like there's a pretty straightforward solution to this, that SE already employs elsewhere. When fighting the mobs for Succor to the Sidhe (and some of the tab-NMs, I hear), you have to stay within a certain radius of the pop, or else you are considered to have left the battlefield - the mobs despawn and you are considered to have failed it. I'd like to see campaign mobs refuse to fight outside a certain reasonable radius from the fortification. Alternatively, any action you yourself take outside that radius generates you zero rewards. That still leaves asshats the option of screwing with battles just for the heck of it, but keeps people from standing just outside the battle line and curing/nuking/shooting with impunity.

All was quiet on the western front after that first battle (which yielded me 175 xp, all from curing people as they came unweakened), so I tried joining an offensive battle in Sauromugue Champaign. Luckily, there were mobs defending, but I found out that even after soloing a Leechkeeper on my PLD for most of its life, a SAM can walk up, Gekko once, and rip hate off of me. Dammit, it's not like I can get my points through DD! Makes me want to drag it off to a far corner of the zone so no one can bother me! >.>
My complaint here is not so much that DDs can rip hate off of me - I'm pretty used to that, though it *does* still frustrate me. It's moreso that certain jobs get screwed pretty easily. PLDs get jack unless they get to tank most of the time (and the DDs aren't likely to hold back just for me to get a good score). Mages get screwed unless they both melee-DD *and* cast their cures/nukes. Don't have your staff skill capped? Hope you never want to campaign for your BLM buffer!

My final complaint with campaign has more to do with our home's destruction last Monday. I now have to compete with twice as many people for mobs in campaign battles. This means that battles don't last as long, and I thus spend proportionately more of my time *looking* for a battle as compared to actually fighting. Combine this increased difficulty in gaining Allied Notes with the fact that the past nations will actually strip you of your rightfully earned honors.... I'm pretty convinced that I should just quit campaigning altogether. I think I'll just stick with meriting via soloing and tanking to force people to invite Dem's summoner.

Ohyeah, almost forgot. They added three "campaign relics" in this last update. While in campaign, they have big accuracy bonuses and unique relic-style weaponskills. Their damage ratings are not high enough to make me jump, but what really saddens me? Two of the three weapons added were freaking swords. Now, I'm a paladin, so I like swords. But why would you introduce three unique weapons, but make two of them of the same type? WTF? Also, the last one's a staff, but seems like it's worthless for any actual mage work. Maybe that unique WS does something suitably neato, but I doubt it.
Beanie > Dem and I brainstormed. This is the first fruits of my labor. Hopefully it helps: www.fantasyinsanity.net/fi/forums/showthread.php?p=15010#post15010 (10/03/28 01:41)
Demandred > I often hit crowded zones, so maps like the one you made would be very, very useful. I had wondered where the mobs were getting pulled to in Rolanberry on Midgard, and a favorite hideaway for mob-yankers wsa 'around the corner" to the north of the fort in Jugner. East Ronfaure and Grauberg are definitely being spawn camped, and there are mild amount in Vunkerl_S from what I can tell. Thank you for the plotted map and I'll keep an eye on the widescanners. :) (10/03/28 13:52)
Klaital > Aye, well done indeed. I doubt it'll be enough to motivate me to resume campaigning anytime soon, though. I'm.... pretty upset about it. If they did something like 1) Increase the number of NQ mobs (so that there's stuff left for me to do even when 20+ people show up) and 2) prevent people from screwing with the mobs' plositioning (10/03/28 15:58)
Nimbex > On the other hand, ranking up from Campaign Ops seems to be way easier now, at least. (10/03/29 08:27)
Elizara > Thank you Beanie. I don't do a lot of campaign, mostly just to keep my jobs capped. But I do like to know where people are yanking mobs. ^^ (10/03/29 12:56)

StoreTP tool(open)10/02/03 18:10(68)
Got the urge to write some code today, and I ended up with a little tool to help me choose gear for my SAM. Since a SAM (or other DD/sam) needs to care about keeping just enough StoreTP gear equipped to cause a certain number of hits to yield 100% or more TP, it can be tricky to balance just the right amount of StoreTP gear with Haste/Accuracy/etc equipment.

This is just a rough release for now - I'm reasonably certain there are some rounding errors that will crop up when you're within one or two points of StoreTP of a given build. ...that's a problem, since that's where you optimally want to be >.>

Anyway, if anyone else feels like messing with it, consider this the "open beta" before I consider it stable enough to call version 1.0.

Also, feel free to submit feature requests along with bug reports~

...and before anyone asks, yes, it's ugly. It's just a simple tool! If you want it pretty, feel free to volunteer!

First ohat run went great. It was almost last-minute in composition, as a bunch of folks from FI volunteered, but a number of them were going to be unavailable unless we made the run soon. In the end, however, all but 3 or so of the folks who said they "might make it" did. So I had 16 people show up, and all of the needed roles were filled, even if I did have to come on PLD D:

The knowledge that I might end up having to tank Hakutaku had been making me incredibly nervous for about 24 hour prior to the fight. I'd brought an extra cluster in case of a wipe. After the first fight, I breathed a huge sigh of relief, and felt confident it wouldn't be needed. My stun team was great, and, in my opinion, the key to our smooth wins - I think that we only had one nuke go off over the course of 6 pops. I also had four melees dedicated to using SATA to keep him pinned onto the tanks, which worked out great.

So, in my opinion, the core team we'll need to run this again with similar success:
2x decent tanks. I'm feeling confident now that I can fill this role adequately. I don't know what kind of accuracy he has, so I'm unsure how frustrating he'd be for a NIN tank.
2x good WHM. A good RDM/whm or SCH could probably fill this role if we needed.
3-4 reliable stunners. I had 3x RDM/drk + 1x DRK, and they were awesome. NIN/drk could probably help out here as well.
2 or so refreshers. One for each party with a tank or stunner in it. Note that this group can overlap with the stunners if we use RDM/drk.
1x pet job for pulling. Sivara kicked ass as BST for this.
The rest of the crew fills out with DDs. I actually didn't have any BLMs in the party, but my RDMs got to do a bit of nuking. It would seem that with four of my melees /thf for SATA-WS we were able to keep hate fairly stable on the tanks. Still a bit of wiggle towards the end of a kill, but nothing we couldn't handle. The key is that the DDs who are not /thf need to be careful about their enmity generation. I think my BSTs and DRK were the only melees I had *not* /thf.

That run was *fun*. Let's get some more clusters for Morlock, Fait, Neko and Kireila and Negata, and find a time we can kick some more ass. It still seems like our best day for getting a majority of these folks together is on Sundays. That unfortunately leaves Kireila out, so I may yet organize another two runs if I can.
Beanie > Once upon a time before PLD got a real boost by things like Auto-Refresh, mini-Invincible Sentinel, and lol-you-call-that-magic? Rampart, Hakutaku was NIN onry tanking. A decent NIN won't have any problems tanking it as long as -gaIIIs are stunned and Paralyze is removed promptly. (10/02/01 19:02)

Finally got an invite on THF this morning, preventing me from being forced to solo the rest of my way to level 73. Yay, now I can wear my Dragon Harness, Assassin's Poulaines, and have my Dragon Subligar made. I've been looking forward to this level for a while now. ...sadly, however, the new shoes look *awful* paired with the Feral Trousers I usually wear. Needs Homam or Paluwahn >.>

Anyway, while chatting in LS while playing NIN (<.<), it sounded like there was fair interest in Swift Belt and Optical Hat runs. My priority is probably ohat > belt, so I would prefer to organize those runs first. My availability is Monday, Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Other days potentially available if statics are cancelled due to other members wanting in on the runs.

Who else needs these runs, or would be willing to help kill stuff? I'm going to require here that you have already acquired your own pop items - I am not currently planning Hakutaku Eye or Fomor Codex farming. You can feel free to ask me for help with such farming, but that would be a side activity. I may schedule Fomor Hate "farming" runs as needed, though, as we may wish to use the same 1-2 people to do most of the popping.

Sivara > As I told Dem, I'm happy to BST for your O-hat runs. Sundays are best for me. (10/01/14 18:31)
Elizara > And I'd be happy to summonerate or whm for any ohat runs. I have a pop item already. (10/01/14 18:37)
Tovari > I can assist with O-Hat. Haven't even started for Swift Belt. Maybe I should. I'll try to fit in with what y'all decide. (10/01/14 19:23)
Kireila > I can only do Tuesdays, but I'm interested in both. I need my haku eye synthed, and I can just buy a codex somewhere. WHM/BLM/RDM/BRD for 50 cap, can probably work on other jobs if needed. BRD/BLM/RDM for ohat, would prefer to stun shit if possible. (10/01/14 21:25)
Cydori > Don't need either, but can help with both. Sundays are good for me, and possibly Mondays until my new online RP group starts at some point. For uncapped, I only have DRG; for 50-cap, DRG, WAR, and probably SAM depending on when you start. I'd be happy to help with eye-farming as well. (10/01/15 06:51)
Cydori > Oh, Wednesdays would work too. Tuesdays, probably not unless we have an early-ending Dynamis. (My stipulation for leaving early for missions was that it wouldn't be for more than a few weeks.) (10/01/15 06:53)
Negata > I'm in for OHat, but still need the pop item. I'll try farming or something. I'll definitely come along to help if I'm awake, either way. Availability is anytime but Sunday and Tuesday nights, your time, for the next couple of weeks. After that, pretty much never :( (10/01/15 07:24)
Nimbex > I have both, but am willing to help with the NMs for both. I think as a Tarutaru, I'm not allowed to pop fomori, but I can certainly tank or mainheal on either fight. M/Tu/W/Th/F evenings are all possible, but Tu and F just require bowing out of missions/EXP that night. Saturday morning is possible, Sunday is fine during non-Limbus times. (10/01/15 08:59)
Elizara > Oh and I forgot; I'm available sunday afternoons from 3:30ish PM EST to 6:30 PM EST, monday all day, tuesday until dyn, wednedsay until 8:00 PM EST, thursday until 7:00 EST (or whenever I log neko in for dyn that day; I've been trying to get him in game earlier that day), friday until the static, and saturday until dyn (Depending on zone, I might have some time between dyn and limbus, but ask.) (10/01/15 09:01)
Morlock > have codex, not enough hate, want Swift belt. O-hat is on my nice to have list, do not have any of the eyes yet (10/01/16 00:22)
Demandred > For those who are looking for hakutaku eyes, I've seen many for "really cheap" (20k gil or less ea) lately - after I bought mine, of course - and hakutaku clusters for 200k-300k in people's bazaars. Happy hunting! (10/01/16 11:10)
Fait > Willing to come help on Swift Belts if I'm around when you do them. Definately interested in O-hat. Don't have the pop item yet, so I'll need to work on that I guess. Availability is only Sunday evening. (10/01/16 11:16)

Demandred and I are back from va{cat}ion. Texas was lovely, despite the drought, and my friend's wedding went beautifully. We're still in the middle of unpacking our stuff after our recent move, so we may not be online as much for the next few days, outside of statics and such.

So, internet access is finally up! Apparently the phone cables are run under the carpet, so when the new carpeting was installed, the line got cut.

Sadly, this comes less than 24 hours before Dem and I skip town for two weeks >.>
So Dem and I will be in to finish up TAU missions tonight, then we'll be stuck with at best one of us online with my laptop for a while. We shall return from Texas late on Wednesday the 26th.

Incidentally, the phone technician has some cool toys in his toolbelt, including an "Induction Amplifier" that detects the presence of a phone signal running on a line nearby. It then indicates the strength of said signal by varying the volume of a warbling noise (which is replaced by silence or static when no phone signal is detected at all).
Negata > Man, that reminds me of when my auntie made me stay at her place to wait for an electrician. The guy wouldn't stop talking and kept showing me all the nifty gadgets he used, including a "50 amp fuse. This thing's so good your house'll catch on fire. Too bad they went and made them illegal." So, Demandred and I are still not back in. We're not going to be able to be back online on time for XP tonight, as our computers have already been moved, but there's no internet access there until Tuesday.

Sorry for the late notice, but we've been busy *.*
Morlock > Klaital -> we will consider your availability to be *AT RISK* for ToAU unless advised otherwise. (09/07/26 21:15)
Klaital > Guh. Finally back online, but the only phone outlet that works is waaaay away from where we have our computers set up, and the repair tech's not coming until Monday morning. We will therefore likely be out all weekend, but back in time for next Tuesday's events. (09/07/31 23:19)

So, who wants to do something this evening?
Since no one seemed interested in panty farming except me, I guess that's off. I'd still like to take a party down to kill Tres Duendes if I can arrange some folks to help out.

If not, I'll probably be putting together a semi-impromptu XP session with Morlock. Either we sync to ~15, or I may try to build a merit party.

So, anyone keen on any of those options?

Panty Raiding!(open)09/06/30 16:46(60)
It's been a busy weekend.
I attended my first Dynamis run on Friday afternoon, resulting in me winning lot on a pair of SMN feet >.>; but also losing about 8k xp on my BLM (pretty much all of the buffer it had - I relevelled to 73 when R3'd at the end). Exciting run, though :D

On Saturday, Demandred, Elizara, Fait and I attempted to take on Tres Duendes, an NM deep within the Phomiuna Aqueducts - drops a racc dagger, and the Vampiric Claws, which Dem wants for her rising MNK. Well, we failed >.>. Look for Dem to be organizing another run at that later.

Sunday we had a (fairly) striaghtforward Limbus run. Got me a THF upgrade item for when the time comes, and a respectable haul of ancient beastcoins. Excellent job by Salsachip on kiting the Kaiser Behemoth while we beat it down.
After Limbus, we attempted to go beat down Anantaboga for Lothiriel. We eventually won, but at a pretty high price in XP for everyone over the two hour battle (which included it regening to full once ><). We won, and got full drops, but I think many of us would rather not do that again >.>
Congrats to Loth on the trophy and the dagger, and congrats to Morlock on the great katana!

After ZNMing, Fait organized an XP run to get his WHM up to 70 for Divine Might. My THF, the sync target, jumped five full levels from just into 36 to most of the way through 41 in about 4 hours of combat. Good job everyone!

As a result of this weekend's xp, I'm looking towards future gear investments for my THF. I'll probably be camping out off and on for a Bravo's Subligar, but without a lot of hope of actually getting one. I also want a Rapparee harness, which means it's time for farming underwear. Nimbex suggested that farming in Sacrarium might be preferable over the Aqueducts. I've not done this before, so I'm looking for advice. The wiki indicates I could expect much better drop rates in the Aqueducts, but are the Fomor easier to get to/easier to fight in Sacrarium? I don't know. Anyone who wants in, I was thinking perhaps of this coming Thursday evening. Possibly Saturday midday, if folks prefer. I'm looking for both advice and assistance.
Lothiriel > There are a few things we could do differently to make that ZNM fight easier. One is put everyone on /NIN and forget about the SATA'ing for hate crap, that didn't seem to work very well, and he didn't use that TP move that damages based on buffs very often. Two would be to bring 2-3 ninjas to co-tank. He was pretty easy to tank on NIN/WAR with a full evasion set, aside from the occasional KO due to curse + a lucky shot. After the curse lands, if the mages could coordinate and bust out a Cursna + Cure V + Stun + Flash in quick succession, that should eliminate that problem. Full-timing poison potions also helped a lot, but kind of expensive. But I think these ideas would make the fight a lot easier. (09/06/29 12:24)
Fait > For the panties, the advantage to the Sacrarium is that the Fomor are a) not partied, and b) easier fights due to the higher level cap. The drop rate is lower yes, but not noticably imo. Also, given that you guys should be organising yourselves into a Swift Belt group soon, you will fight lots of Fomor then and lots of Subligar will drop. (09/06/29 13:50)
Morlock > Poison potions were less than useless - because being poisoned meant that when charmed, I could not be slept, and being slept could (mercifully) be cancelled by a quick smack from the dragon. (09/06/29 16:02)
Lothiriel > Ah well I guess poison potions for tanks, but not for others, perhaps. They helped me immensely. I think his charm hits a random target, not necessarily the tank. About panties, I definately say Aqueducts for the THF ones. In the Eba room there is a THF that shares a spawn with a RNG, but it is not partied up. The drop rate is substantially better there from my experience. I went 1/3 on THF, I think, and when I actually got the drop I actually ended up solo'ing it on NIN/DNC (it was hard, and I think I got kind of lucky). (09/06/29 16:44)
Klaital > Hmm, if there's a non-partied THF in the Aqueducts, then I'll probably go there if I'm not forming a full-on run. If it's just me and Requin, then that may be our best bet. The wiki indicates drop rates of ~30% for the Aqueducts, but only 4% for Sacrarium. I may take Dem out later to attempt a duo ^^ (09/06/29 18:02)
Fait > If you go on wiki to the pantie quest page, there are some good maps which show all the party setups in the Aqueducts. (09/06/30 12:01)

My apologies to my Sunday static, but I've gotten really tired of working hard for poor xp rates. I'm not sure I can take doing this long enough to get everyone to 75 - which I estimate will be about another *year* or so, at our current rate.

I take all responsibility, as I formed the static, and tried to run it as best I could. Apparently this didn't work out so well, and I'm sorry. I'll still be around on Sundays looking to finish my PLD's last 20,003 xp, or maybe start up my THF, currently at 32. Otherwise, please feel free to replace me and continue on.

My humblest apologies,
~Klaital
Morlock > Sunday XP has been pretty dead for a while now ; ; unfortunately, the XP rates we pull with the usual crowd started to get really bad near the end, espicially when one factors in the typical late starts that we have had (i.e. planned start at 6:30 PM Pacific - actual start 9 PM). Already, we've lost 30 minutes that we could have been gaining XP. If you're only 20k away, I would be fine with us doing some XP on friday to cap you off . . . perhaps a Klai (PLD) / Dem (WHM) / Mor (SAM) / Neko (THF) - certainly that is a good starting point. (09/06/22 10:13)
Demandred > What bothers me is that I still can't figure out why our experience point rates never got the "Aht Urhgan boost." I know that you do not have to fight colibri or imps in particular to get the typical rates (from experience). I'll be around on my WAR, looking to finish out WHM from the other static, and work on several more jobs. Mor: I could be up for that xp on WHM if that plan goes through. (09/06/22 20:25)
Fait > I can't say I blame you for getting fed up, our xp rates have been getting slowly worse. If it's ok with you I might have a try at running something on Sunday in its stead. Also, following on from Mor and Dem, I'll be around Friday night and can bring DRK along. (09/06/23 01:45)
Morlock > Fait, if you are pushing to get WHM ready for Divine Might, we could shift Demandred to WAR and put you on WHM. (09/06/23 08:03)

Sivara > You can count on me to bring occasional COR hotness as needed, provided that you don't mind syncing to the 50s. (09/06/23 10:22)
Fait > Morlock: that would work too, though DRK is fine if Dem would prefer to xp WHM herself! Will post on mine regarding possibilities for Sundays. (09/06/23 15:40)
Zoofster > I'm unsure as to what your party makeup was/is, but... Usually the 'Aht Urgan' boost is composed of a number of factors, not just fighting in Aht Urgan areas. In general, it includes melee-burn-type setups, players with rather... potent gear for their level, and fighting enemies with relatively poor HP and/or defense for their level. This is why Colibri, Puks, and espically Imps, are ideal. But Chigoe and Wamura, for more mana-burn setups, also apply. (09/06/23 23:58)

Yay Dem!
Demandred got an invite to a nice 70-sync party this evening. They had another opening, so I came along as well. After a couple hours of killing Imps in Caedarva Mire outside Alzadaal Undersea Ruins, 3 party members had dinged 75, including Demandred's Warrior :DDD

We had a COR with us (who was the sync target), who was giving us Fighter's Roll (since we had a WAR in the party) and Hunter's Roll - we also had a RNG in the party. That was some HOT action. Lots of fun when the COR managed to roll 11 on the Fighter's Roll a couple of times. ~35% Double Attack is awesome, especially since the boosted Hunter's Roll meant we were hitting with ~90% accuracy.

After most of the party had dinged 75, the PLD74 swapped to WAR75 and we moved to one of the Mamool merit camps for another 10k or so xp there - allowing Dem to get her first merit point in the same session as dinging 75 :D

I, on the other hand, am now 3 merits away from completing my SAM's 6-hit build.

In conclusion, YAY DEM!

Cealia > congrats dem! (09/05/28 01:53)
Demandred > Addendum: I did not push for this advertisement of my level ding. I do, however, have access to the computer the diary entry was posted on and to the person making the posting. :D For the record, the action from the rolls really was hawt! *<('o' *<) (09/05/28 01:54)

So Dem and I are going to visit my family this weekend. This means that we will likely be unavailable for statics on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We *might* be back on Sunday in time, but don't count on it - depending on whether Dem gets Tuesday off from work, we may stay longer.
Morlock > that is ok, as I had no plans for any static-y stuff this friday. I am hoping to do *something* next week though. (09/05/19 16:44)
Klaital > Perhaps I could bribe folks to help me out on another run or two of Divine Punishers? If I'm the only one bringing an orb, I'd just designate everything except the kote, kyahan and cesti to be freelot to pay people for their help. (09/05/19 18:26)
Kireila > I don't have any orbs, but I'd be happy to help. (09/05/20 09:06)
Morlock > I would not be opposed to another pass through Divine Punishers. As a side note, I mentioned to Demandred that there is a relatively pain free way to generate mad Beastcoins . . . . FoV Elite Training Regimes. If I am reading the documentation correctly, at the high end, you can burn a couple hundred tags and earn BCs fighting NMs. This would be a very important reason to keep 20 - 30 BCs on hand at all times. Also, it is a compelling reason to do high tag training regimes when you are able to. As for the 29th Specifically, I expect to be around, and would enjoy another round of Yag cursing. I prefer splitting gil value between the orb bringers, particularly given the insane variability in the value . . . (09/05/20 09:54)
Klaital > From what I've read on the wiki, you can *spend* Beastman's Seals to spawn Elite Training NMs. You *gain* XP for doing so, at a rate of 75 xp/seal. (09/05/20 10:38)
Nimbex > I don't mind helping with BCs for LS members and friends. I don't expect compensation for my time, but I'd rather not *lose* gil on the process. Feed me mithkabobs, and I'll help. I have no seals any more. (09/05/20 10:48)
Fait > I'd like to join a DP run at some point. I can bring an orb :) (09/05/20 15:20)
Sivara > Best way to get seals = Level BST! :D (09/05/20 17:40)
Lothiriel > Totally unrelated, I was just reading your merit stuff. Depending on what gear options you're going with, you may not need full Store TP merits for a 6-hit build. For example, if you TP in Hachi hands + Fumas and WS in Pallas/Alky + Hachi Feet, you only need 4/5 (assuming Rajas/Brutal for TP & WS). (09/05/20 17:48)
Klaital > Loth: Hmm. Are Hachi hands considered acceptable to TP in for hard fights? That was my main concern about using them... (09/05/20 23:42)
Klaital > Sivara: Yeah, soloing is a great way to generate seals, but a poor way to generate XP. While BLM soloing I usually get 1+ of each seal per hour. (09/05/20 23:47)
Zoofster > I've noticed seals only are dependent on how many mobs you kill/hour, not how strong they are. So if you want to amass lots of seals while getting exp, go after the EM/DCs instead of spending condiserably more time on the Ts and VTs and ITs. (09/05/24 09:43)

So, 6x successful runs of Divine Punishers tonight, and not a single O.Kote or Fuma Kyahan to be seen. Got one Spartan Cesti, at least. Given that we're pooling our yields for an even split, each of us should walk away with ~60k gil.
This values each of our seals at about 1k gil. Not too bad, but we were (obviously) hoping for better. I've updated the wiki with info about the drops on all 6 runs, including adding 3 new items to the drop list.

For those curious, here's the calculations I was using:
http://www.abandonedfactory.net/games/ffxi/DivinePunishers_20090515.xls

UPDATE: The original .xlsx file is still there, but there's also a .xls file for folks to use!

Buying from the group:
Morlock: Gold Ingot x2, Darksteel Ingot x1
Nimbex garnet x1, light opal x1, painite x1, flourie x2, moonstone x5

Kireila > .xls plz! Not all of us can run office2007 ; ; (Though really, one can obtain a viewer for files, I am sure! I am a slackertaru.) (09/05/16 10:37)
Klaital > Sorry, I usually do use .xls for just that reason! (09/05/16 16:38)
Nimbex > I'm keeping (pending objections) jadeite, garnet, aquamarine, light opal, painite, fluorite x2, moonstone x5, sunstone x1. (09/05/17 11:25)
Morlock > Klaital, I would like to acquire the gold and darksteel ingots. (09/05/17 11:38)
Nimbex > I have given the gold and darksteel I had to morlock. 1 of each. (09/05/17 13:07)
Nimbex > I will also keep: mythril ingot x4, steel ingot. (09/05/17 13:34)
Nimbex > ack, I gurss of that list of gems, 3 of them were my own gems. Whatever was needed for that one quest. Sorry. Hope you can make sense of that, therefore. (09/05/17 13:40)
Nimbex > OK, so, remove from that list: jadeite, sunstone, aquamarine, as they were my gems, not from BCNM. Posting again next: (09/05/17 13:46)
Nimbex > Here's what I'm actually keeping: garnet, light opal, painite, fluorite x2, moonstone x5 (09/05/17 13:47)
Kireila > Okay, I have sent Morlock: 1 darksteel ingot, 1 gold ingot. I have sent Nimbex: 3xJadeite, 1xChrysoberyl, 1x Fluorite. (09/05/17 17:37)
Nimbex > As another data point, if relevant, I've sold the Mahogany Log x2 for 4k each. I figure I owe some sum of payout gil to people -- if you have the calculations to tell me what to send, I can do that. (09/05/18 10:00)
Nimbex > OK, sold the last few things: Spartan Cesti (91766), Dominion Mace (20k), Enhancing Mantle (9k). I think that's everything. Let me know whom to send gil to! (09/05/23 11:48)
Kireila > Selling update: Aramis' Rapier: (25k), Enhancing Mantle (10k), Foresti's Axe (20k). There are currently 5 (wtf) Peace Rings up, and I am almost inclined to just NPC. (09/05/28 10:09)
Klaital > Ok, I've updated the spreadsheet, and it looks like everything is accounted for once Kireila sells the Peace Ring one way or another. I've plugged in the NPC sell price for the ring, everything else is what y'all posted here. Someone want to double check my calculations before we distribute gil? (09/05/30 10:41)
Kireila > Dominion Mace (1): 20; Peace Ring 3917 gil. Need to sell last Dominion Mace and that should be all. One up already, but I'll try listing it. (09/06/01 22:32)
Kireila > NPC sold price of last Dominion Mace from me: 6,379g (09/06/21 22:49)
Klaital > So, if my calculations are correct (and I'm rather worried about them), Kireila should have 83,796 gil for distribution, Nimbex 126,190, and Morlock 51,200. *Please* let me know if these numbers seem off. That brings the gil/share to 49,904 gil. I suggest that each of you send gil minus your share to me for final distribution: Kireila 33,892; Nimbex 114,526; Morlock 1,296 gil. (09/06/22 14:45)

For some reason our Airship fights keep screwing up my parser. I still haven't been able to track down the issue, though I *have* discovered that my code is mishandling timestamps somehow. Not sure where that bug is yet, but I'll find it -.-9

I've written a lightweight parser for giving me realtime status of Omega and Ultima. It won't give us accuracy numbers or anything - it just totals how much damage has been done to each boss, regardless of the means. Sadly, it can't parse DoTs, though, so Dia and Requiem damages aren't included.

That said, I ran this new parser on last week's fight. It says we did 14,582 damage to Omega, who is supposed to have ~14k HP, and 14587/15k damage to Ultima. So yeah, likely one extra WS would have finished it off. Anyway, I'll (hopefully) be able to read the numbers off to the party pretty close to real-time as to the boss's %HP remaining.

Amusing sidenote: apparently we did almost exactly the same amount of damage to both bosses ><

PS: Full parse from last week's run, minus the first half of the mammet fight:
http://www.abandonedfactory.net/games/ffxi/analysis/2009.04.21.cop-airship.config.html

PPS: SUCCESS! WOOHOO! Links to both of the last two full airship runs' parse analyses available on the index page here: http://www.abandonedfactory.net/games/ffxi/analysis/
Kireila > nyahahaha, there's my feeble attempt at using Banish to nuke Ultima down when it was at 1%. Hurray!! o.ob (09/04/29 09:32)
Morlock > we kick the ass . .. . though the mini-parcer seems to be off somewhat as I have 0% crits (I KNOW I crit some) and despite my total damage being higher than Demandreds, it shows her percentage as higher . . . wierd. It would be cool to show max hit and WS damage (as a later feature). (09/04/29 12:46)
Klaital > Those tables were generated by the regular parser. It seems to have an issue with *something* during each of our Airship runs that I've parsed with it. I get around this by advancing the "start time" until it succeeds. In this case, I had to cut off the first couple of failed attempts, and ~half of the final runs' round 1. I checked the logfiles - all of the (melee) crits you scored were before 20:34 PDT, which is when the parser picks up. You scored a bunch of ranged crits, but my parser doesn't display that yet. (09/04/29 14:28)
Karlinn > Interesting breakdown. So it cuts in during or before Omega? The damage looks like it totals up to about 30k. And neat that it picks up curing too, I didn't know we were taking that kind of damage ^^; (09/04/29 20:49)
Klaital > I believe the parsing starts partway though the mammets. (09/04/30 14:02)
Fait > Klai: might not be on for static tonight. If I'm not about an hour or so before start time, I won't be on, so feel free to rep me. (09/05/10 13:03)

Dem heard a rather odd shout in Whitegate this evening while running Retrace comissions. Dogbert shouted that she was off to solo Diabolos Prime, and was willing to take the next five /tells along as leeches. After double checking that we had the quest open, Dem and I sent her tells.

Needless to say, the party filled up fast. After a (fairly) uneventful trip through Pso'Xja's 40cap tower, we entered the battlefield. Apparently it's fairly well known that a PUP75 can solo the fight using Dia II and Tier-IV nukes from the automaton. I didn't know that before we set out, but it was still pretty awesome to watch :D

After a remarkably uneventful fight, we all thanked Dogbert, and tipped her 10k towards her Hermes Sandals. So Dogbert made an easy 50k gil, and the rest of us got an easy win on Diabolos. Technically we'd all still make a profit if we took the gil option, too :)

Sorry, Morlock. I'd have given you my spot if you'd been online still :(

Fait > Hehe, that's pretty awesome. Clearly I need to hang out in Whitegate more! (09/04/19 03:43)
Morlock > amusing things are usually happening in Whitegate - congradulations -> if only I knew a PUP 75 . . . (09/04/19 07:54)

Elizara > I've heard of 2 75 pup duoing him, but never a solo! Grats on Diablos! (09/04/19 12:50)
Zoofster > Oooh, I know Ebin has PUP 75. Maybe we can get him to go solo it for us... (09/04/20 11:07)

Cealia has reminded me that tomorrow is Easter Sunday. Who all is still planning to show up for static? Given the holiday, no biggie if you want to, you know, visit family or something. I'm just trying to figure out who to expect. If two or more people are bowing out, I will likely cancel formally rather than rep.

OK, upon discussion, it seems that cancelling is in favor. Several people want skillups, and Dem wants to do some latent breaking. In Tovari's words, "shit. let's just cancel tatic tomorrw. do all the fun stuff." So, Fait: get a good night's sleep.
Dem and I will almost certainly be around, working on Dem's Axe of Trials, possibly with other folks interested skillups. I understand Tovari wants to kill spiders in Kuftal Tunnel for a R/Ex drop, so I'll plan on us heading that way.
Fait > I have roughly the same chance as normal of showing up. That is to say it's entirely based on how asleep I am :) (09/04/11 17:06)

So, tonight's XP was a bust. We had 4/6 people available, and I thought I had 1-2 standby reps. Well, it turned out that neither of those reps were available tonight after all. Then Fait died on the way to sky, and d/c'd before Elizara could get there to raise him. Elizara had kindly offered to bring her SMN out to fill in a party slot, but with only 3/8 of the people I'd expected to have around (though some had given advance notice, so no worries there), I decided to cancel our meeting.

Instead, the four of us went out to Attohwa Chasm to farm up some Iolites. We ended up with one drop, and one wipe. Oh well, gil is gil :)

Unfortunately, Dem, Morlock and I had already popped our Emperor charges, so we're game for getting some more exp tomorrow (Monday) evening. Anyone else interested? I'd prefer using my SAM or PLD at higher levels (so I don't have to regear), but I'm game for syncing lower, or bringing different jobs. Anyone else interested? I'd like to plan on us starting at the usual 6pm PDT/8pm CDT. Post your preferred jobs if you're interested, and I'll form up a party. Any remaining slots I'll fill in the hour before we meet from the LS.

Current Party:
Klaital - PLD, SAM, nearly anything else depending on level >.>
Demandred - WAR
Fait > Sorry, my router decided that it would be a perfect time to turn itself off, and since I was already somewhat annoyed at myself for dying like a moron, I really couldn't be bothered getting the stupid thing working again. (09/04/06 07:14)
Morlock > after last night's slightly less than successful xp/farming, I think I will take the evening off and enjoy a break. (09/04/06 08:05)
Shadowneko > the thing is I woulda helped but me and eli can't be on at the same time (09/04/06 08:48)
Kireila > I have class tonight until about 9pm CDT. (09/04/06 09:28)

Short notice, but it looks like there's some interest in some low-level XP tonight. I plan on us starting by 6:00 pm PDT, but we'll see how it goes.

So far, we have:

Klaital: DNC32
Kireila: BRD40
Demandred: WAR69, MNK45, RDM18, THF17

Possible others:
Renala: BLM34, SCH13
Scion: DRK39
Nimbex, Morlock?

I'll start finalizing the party build and choose us a campsite around 5:30 according to who all is actually online and available. Feel free to post here if you're interested, or just show up and see ^.^

Heads' up for the Assault crew tonight - our internet is still down, and I'm not sure when I'll have it back up. Hopefully in time, but no guarantees. Tech support was fairly responsive over the weekend, but they apparently left a bug in the new configuration, because I am connected to the DSL system, but not the internet. In a related issue, I have no dial tone now, either -.-
