10/07/25 One last hurrah(open)10/08/13 23:21(116)
Before FFXI closes its doors, there are a few things that Klaital, Demandred and I were hoping to finish as part of my Friday static (8 PM Central). Since there seems to be a somewhat dwindling interest, even in shouts around Aht Urghan, I thought I would post and see if there is any interest from those who remain. Here is what we have on the to-do list, if there is any interest on your part, contact me and we can discuss:

Assaults to Captain:
we have the following assaults, that we've steadily been checking off over the last several weeks. If you need some of them, feel free to tag along.

Laujoam:
FL Bloody Rondo

Periquia:
CS Operation Snake Eyes
FL The Price is Right

Lebros:
FL Better than One

Mamool:
SM Blitzkreig
FL The Sasanoo Shuffle

Illrusi Atol:
FL Bellerophan's Bliss

Nyzul Isle 45 -> 100 (We'd go back a bit if we get the right mix of people, since Nyzul floor climbs are not expicially scary these days)

Kupo: Final Battle

ASA: Final two fights

WotG: Current Nation Quests through completion

Again, if you have interest, contact me and we can try to work something out.

Otherwise, everyone have fun on FFXIV. I am still in debate over making the switch, though, I know for certain that I will turn off the lights on FFXI by the end of the year.
Sivara > If you don't mind waiting a while on Kupo and WotG stuff, we can semi-merge our statics and knock those out together. Karlinn and I plan on returning in September (or whenever it comes out) for the end of WotG. (10/07/25 20:05)
Elizara > I'm staying -- for at least a while -- but I'd be glad to help with any of those. I want to finish WoTG myself. (10/07/26 13:31)
Valamir > I need a bunch of the stuff you listed and am generally free of Friday nights (10/07/26 15:41)
Cydori > On the infrequent occasions that I'm around on Fridays, I could help out with just about any of this. (10/07/27 13:32)
Vaudian > Goodbye to all those leaving for FFXIV, I shall end my days of major MMO'ing on XI (which won't die for quite some time still), even if I don't make cap on my jobs or finish any of the storylines. (10/07/27 19:39)
Morlock > priorities may shift for us to move back to mission clearing soon-ish. Since I do my detailed arrangements via email, it would be worth while to contact me and get information. Sivara, I have asked Karlinn to forward my email address to you. (10/08/13 23:23)

10/05/20 Mission Plan for Next Tuesday(open)10/05/20 19:36(115)
Team,

Last week was a good run. Though, due to poor communication, we left one man behind. The plan for this coming Tuesday:

Homework: get up to the next ASA fight. Izzi, if you want an assist on the NMs for key items, poke me in game. They were pretty easy fights, so long as you have the damage types available.

ASA: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Battaru_Royale

Kupo: If Izzi posts / contacts me or otherwise expresses interest, we'll clear the QSC fight again. It was mostly painless. If you like to get rewards, you would be advised to pick up the key items again.

Also, be ready for the final Kupo fight.

Team composition for Tuesday (assuming no-Izzi):
Demandred: WAR
Morlock: SAM
Klaital: BLM
Nimbex: WHM
Kireila: RDM

If we have an Izzitda, we will use the same composition as last week for the QSC fight and switch it up for the others.

Post or contact me if you have questions comments or concerns.

Team,

Here is the plan for 18 May 2010:

Kill the cat! (burglar): http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Roar!_A_Cat_Burglar_Bares_Her_Fangs

Party composition:
Klaital: PLD/war
Demandred: DD/nin
Morlock: SAM/nin
Nimbex: WHM/sch
Kireila: BRD/xxx
<Izzitda???: COR/xxx>

and NMs for ASA: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Shantotto_in_Chains

We have 3 mobs in Zi'tah, who appear between 17:00 and 07:00: requiring: Magic, Blunt, Pierce damage

and 3 in Ro'Maeve, requiring: Slashing, ranged, magic

Our build for the first fight should be fine to clear slashing piercing and possibly ranged. We could then swap out: Morlock -> PUP, Kireila -> BLM and clear the magic and blunt types.

This will be alot to cover in one night, so it is imperative that everyone is ready to execute at 8 PM central. Once I am online, I will check in with the team and send the gather message, we'll smack down the mithra in short order and have plenty of time for NMs of various sorts.

Izzitda, you have expressed interest in the past for these mission completions, you are welcome to join us this coming Tuesday. Let us know if you will be unable to attend.

- Morlock

Hello people, as some of you may know, I have been doing a number of things with the Gummies Shell, including Limbus. Namm (the guy who runs their Limbus) has suggested that the two shells consider merging. Gummies gather at 9 PM central and try to run by 9:30 PM Central on Thursday and Sunday evenings. They are in a situation, similar to ours, in that they have less interest in Limbus these days, however, they would be willing to help CTY use up their Omega / Ultima pops. Namm's initial offer was to that CTY will keep the top choice item and Gummie people would get a shot at the second or maybe third drop. From what I can tell this may be the best way for CTY to burn through its pop items. Anyway, the offer is now "official" I post here so that you all can discuss. I will leave it to Loth/Nimbex to close this deal.

Overall, my impression is that Namm and the shell are ok folks.

Kireila > Yeah, I generally enjoy Nam and co., and I've been doing Dynamis with them sortalately. The only issue I currently see is that some of our popsets are currently on relatively inactive people now. Sure, we could build up more pop sets, but why not find a way to burn through the ones we already have? But yeah, Nam&co are good people in my book, for what it's worth. (10/05/07 08:49)
Demandred > Namm et al seem cool (Namm also suggested that we keep what we want on our pops, and they keep what they want on their pops which is also reasonable). The only issue with joining with the Gummies at thier times is that our Sunday morning runs don't work (we can't get the soap again til that night) so we'd need to work around that. Sunday evenings have become more dicey as they are Sky nights, though Klaital and I may get done in time to join those runs. Just my spare change there... (10/05/08 17:51)
Fait > Sunday nights would mean I could not attend. 3-3:30am start would be a pretty definite no for me. (10/05/08 19:28)
Klaital > They seem ok to me. Dem and I are in Sky on Sundays around 4:30 pacific, however, so we'd need to either Limbus early or late. (10/05/09 19:12)
Cealia > probably wouldn't be able to do it. sundays i have dynamis at 930, and i don't get home from work on thursdays until 10. (10/05/10 12:33)

10/04/26 Friday XP plans(open)10/04/26 15:23(112)
I think it would be very nice this week to start onto a new weekly static. We will pick off Karlinn's WHM at a later date (when Nimbex or I swap out our jobs in this group).

Demandred - PLD, Karlinn - BLU or DRK or WAR, Klaital - BRD, Shadowneko - DRG, Morlock - DNC, Nimbex - SCH (or RDM)

We'd end up level synching to Neko (~L20) or Karlinn (in the L15-L20 range) and pushing our way through the ranks. This build would likely work quite well for MMM for those points in the band where XP camps may fail us (since we have adequate DD and Foe Lulliby). Nimbex and I will want to change out jobs once we hit L50, but beyond that, things should be spiffy.

Karlinn, if you would be so kind as to select a job, please let us know what level you are at so that we can gear appropriately. See everyone friday.

Nimbex > I'll bring gear based on the idea that I'm SCH20. If I sync lower than that, it's fine, but it won't really affect anything much. As long as we're 15+, Morlock should be able to mainheal, with me as a capable backup. I s'pose I'll /RDM for maximum debuff options. (10/04/27 10:27)
Karlinn > I'll work on DRK a bit this week and bring it for Friday; 15-20 should be fine. Getting DRK to 37 would be a big help on missions. (10/04/27 21:44)
Demandred > Given that my PLD was selected, I guess I'll work on my NIN and SAM for their final levels on the side then, and xp my DNC as it currently is. (10/04/28 20:27)
Morlock > Dem, I am thinking that NIN and SAM will quite easily find homes on weeks when we need to close stuff out ... but fell free to close them at your convenience. Please note that tomorrow evening, I will have just gotten off a 12 hour plane ride, so I may be just a little slow. (10/04/29 02:53)
Nimbex > I finished SCH to 50 on Sunday, and RDM has hopped from 41 to 45. I expect to be unavailable Friday 5/7 and Friday 5/14. (10/05/03 12:22)
Morlock > well, we need a nice rep for this week (and next) on RDM / SCH or WHM .... post if you're interested. (10/05/04 06:32)
Fait > Not sure what level you're syncing to currently, but if 18SCH is useful then I can step in on the 14th. (10/05/10 06:52)

I was pondering everyone's inputs last night, and wanted to get some stuff on paper with respect to XP plans.

Friday 23 April: Goal - cap Karlinn's WHM to L49 or L50
Team: Karlinn - WHM, Demandred - NIN, Klaital - DD, Neko - SMN, Morlock - DD, open slot

My thoughts: for this session, it would seem simplest to synch to Karlinn and hang around GC. Either way, the level synch and the jobs remain unchanged. If we wanted to try out MMM, we would want to be sure to have someone who could reliably sleep links.

Next static group. I was pondering over what people were saying last night with respect to jobs. I would not be at all opposed to level synching down to something in the 20s. So, here's what I am thinking right now:

--------- OPTION 1 ------------------

Demandred - PLD, Karlinn - BLU (or DRK or WAR), Klaital - BRD, Shadowneko - DRG, Morlock - DNC, Nimbex - SCH (or RDM)

We'd end up level synching to Neko (~L17) or possibly Karlinn (also in the L15-L20 range) and pushing our way through the ranks. This build would likely work quite well for MMM for those points in the band where XP camps may fail us. Also, I believe it hits jobs that everyone has on their "wants to do list". Note, in this case, Nimbex and I will likely want to change out jobs once we hit L50, but beyond that, things should be spiffy.

----------Option 2-----------------

Karlinn - NIN, Demandred - DNC, Morlock - THF, Nimbex - SCH (or RDM), Klaital - DRK, Neko - SMN

We level synch down to Demandred's DNC (~L31), which means that having a Karlinn w/o Utsu: Ni is not overly painful. What this lacks is a viable off-tank, though SATA onto Klaital may be the way we mitigate that.

Really, my absolute constraint is that I do not level synch down my WAR or RNG too much, since they have skilling to do, that I would prefer to do 'at level'. Beyond that, I am willing to work around with things.

Please post your thoughts, and we will hopefully come to a fine conclusion within the next 2 weeks.

Nimbex > I don't mind being synched down for EXP on some jobs. Any mage job should be able to sync to any level, since I should be capped in all 6 skills for 50 in any job. PLD, I'd prefer not to sync for the sake of parry/shield skillups. It would be useful if you listed what level that meant, if it's "to dem's DNC". I can look it up, of course. OK, 31. Yeah, I think Klai-DRK can be a SATA buddy acceptably. If Neko needs SMN buffer, that's fine, but overall, syncing down a 75 seems unfortunate to me. In any event, SCH is really my #1 priority to get to 50, so I'm all in favor of plans where I do that. Either tank is fine. Also, DNC + SCH probably can cover all the healing, though SMN makes a nice tertiary healer, Neko might be able to DRG in that build, too, aside from the harm it'll do to his polearm skill. (10/04/19 10:23)
Fait > I can fill in the spot this Friday night for you. Obviously DRK synced down to whatever. (10/04/19 14:50)
Morlock > Fait: you're in on Friday. Expect to be in the mid-40s range (10/04/20 06:36)
Morlock > Nimbex: given that people seem slightly less dilligent about posting levels, I left things as relative level, based upon what is recorded, and what people have said. Overall, I see Option 1 as slightly less cool for Demandred, since she will end up level synching down a bit (which may have negative impacts on her shild skill - IIRC Dem has parry at like L40 - 45 equivalent on SAM). I think the only issue with pushing option 2 down to Neko-DRG is that we don't have SATA as an option for a little while. Still, I will leave it to those who have opinions on which route to take. (10/04/20 06:41)
Nimbex > But, yeah, SCH and RDM should be relatively interchangeable for me, even with respect to gear. Since SCH is 45, I'd start with that, and then swap to RDM, if we were synched well down anyway. (10/04/20 12:54)
Klaital > Karlinn really needs his DRK levelled more than his NIN, I think. If we do Option 2, I'd be ok with trading places with him. (10/04/22 09:51)
Shadowneko > if you really need someone to throw cures around I'd be happy to come as full WHM instead of summoner. When the level cap goes up it will be gimped as a sub XD (10/04/22 13:29)
Shadowneko > BTW: I did some leveling and my dragoon is now 19-20 range k? (10/04/22 13:37)

Fait > Sorry, I have to bail I'm afraid. Got to drive my aunt to the airport at 3am, so I'd only be around for 30 mins of XP anyway. (10/04/23 17:41)

It's been a while since I have done a random log entry ....

Last week I finally capped PUP to L75. I am now working on getting Dreizehn's skills up to snuff. Dreizehn am at L70 (251 skill) equivalent in Magic, however, he's only in the mid / low 60s on Melee and Ranged (using the optimal build for each, of course). It's been a long process to get through these, however, I remain hopeful that I will be able to cap these off in the coming weeks. I picked up Role Reversal and it has already proven well worth the price as it has kept Dreizehn and I both alive when we might have otherwise died painfully. I now have just a few more automaton parts to acquire and my set will be complete.

To that end, I ran Scouting the Ashu Talif with a group, it was scary how efficient the run was. Coming out as SAM/nin, I was literally redundant as the team wiped the deck with little to no effort. I'd pick off the occasional stragler, but it was rare that they'd live long either way. No cool drops since we missed a boss because we were silly, but, hey, the clear was quite nice.

Easter was sort of a day off for me, since my family celebrates on Saturday (it is more convenient for everyone). Started the day doing Campaign Ops: Hawk Eye IV (visit the great white north, avoid TS and dragon poop, get lots of XP). Only died twice, but still net myself over 2k XP for the day (good by most measures of mid afternoon Campaign Ops).

I then decided to attempt to solo the Rank 2 Dragon fight (Nimbex convinced me that this should be well within my abilities). Geared up PUP/nin (25) and went to visit the dragon. After taking hate, I sicked Dreizehn (Melee frame, tank build) onto the eye and the two of us smacked it down reasonably quickly while the Dread Dragon tried to hit me. I had to quaff a couple hi-potions to make it through that phase, but once the eye was down, I set Dreizehn loose on the dragon and popped off Overload. With that set, I launched 3x wind maneuver and let Drei put up some shadows, which lasted pretty much the rest of the fight. We finished off the dragon in a little over 6 minutes. The best part about wining that fight is the final cutscene ... <3 Lion <3 ...

Later, I decided to put off skilling in favor of some more ranks and I pushed through upto the Magicite mission while in Jueno, I picked up my SAM AF+1 head piece. I think I am done with SAM AF+1 (head and legs) as I am not sure that the body, hands or feet are really worth the time and money. PUP has shiny AF+1 feet, and I am thinking the Hands are about the only other piece worth the effort, so, I may well be done with my AF upgrades pretty soon. At which point, I will only need to acquire a large number of coins for my other objects (Boxer's Mantle, yes please!).

Oh well, it's been a productive couple of weeks... See people throughout the week at the various statics:

WotG Fight: 8 PM Tuesday
XP Thursday: ??? (not sure yet)
XP Friday: 8 PM - check in - 8:30 PM be on the ground in zone: GC!

Nimbex > lose = not win; loose = whore like mako. yay going to GC next! (10/04/05 10:31)
Cydori > I am thinking that I'll be back to setting up xp sessions on either 4/22 or 4/29. I'll update my status once I know more. (10/04/05 10:58)
Hakhi > you know what, it's super crazy this week for me wrapping up wedding crap so I'm really going to have to cancel. See you all next week. (10/04/11 19:35)

So, thursday static without Cydori was notably less SAM intense ... still, it would appear that we have a working Party build. I will suggest that we stick with it for the time being:

Sivara - COR / Hakhi - BLM / Demandred - SMN / Klaital - PLD / Morlock - PUP / Negata - BLU

Figure we can mess with this for a few more weeks, given my typical sketchy schedule, people will be welcome to rep me with an Automaton as required and see if anyone notices. A new plan will be completed later.
Sivara > I'm available for future exping as COR, SAM, WAR, BST, or even RNG. I enjoyed spending time with you guys! (10/03/20 09:42)
Hakhi > So very sorry that I didn't make it on Thursday... There was a minor crisis. Will be there next week. (10/03/27 11:10)
Demandred > I hope everything is okay, Hakhi. O.O And duly noted, Sivara! (10/03/27 16:21)
Sivara > FYI: I won't be able to make it tomorrow night for exp. (10/03/31 23:44)

Team,

I am hereby recommending the the Friday XP static officially change course in order to prepare for the inevitable Level Cap raises. I would like to start by helping people pull their critical Sub-jobs to L50. I would also like to utilize Friday as my primary L75+ static with the plan to take 2 jobs from L75 to L99 as the levels become available. If you are interested in this project, please state the following.

(Name): [jobs to 99 - in priority order] (75+) / [sub-jobs to L50 in priority order]

Data Log: [current static job]
Morlock: SAM, PUP (L75+) / [NIN], WAR, RNG, DNC, THF, SCH, WHM (L50)
Klaital: SAM, THF, NIN, BLM, WHM (75+) / [SCH], RDM, SMN, DRK, DNC, MNK, RNG (50)
Demandred: WAR, MNK (75+)/ NIN, SAM, SCH, DNC, [THF] (50)
Nimbex: [RNG], THF, SCH, WAR, RDM, SMN, DNC, DRK, MNK, PLD, SMN (L50)
Karlinn: NIN, [WHM], BLM, DRK
Shadowneko: NIN, [WAR], WHM (L50)

We will start on SJ's *THIS FRIDAY* the sooner you all get me preferences, the sooner I will get those allocations taken care of, and have a plan in place.

Morlock

----- EDIT -----
Ok, so I looked at everyone's pages, here's what I will recommend for the coming weeks. Post your opinions and interest:

Nimbex: DD (sounds like RNG will be the preference)
Shadowneko: WAR
Morlock: NIN
Klaital: SCH <-- Level Synch Target week 1
Demandred: THF
Karlinn: BLM (or WHM)

Nimbex > Nothing (L75+) / SCH, RDM, SMN, RNG, WAR, DNC, DRK, MNK, SAM, PLD. While I'm not around on Friday, March 5, I'm most keen on levelling those first 4 jobs. I would prefer to be assigned jobs from those, but will not be upset by any of them. (10/03/02 08:47)
Karlinn > Same four still apply: NIN, DRK, WHM, BLM. I would very much like another crack at DRK, but I'll bring what's needed. (10/03/02 22:57)
Klaital > SAM, THF, NIN, lolBLM, WHM / SCH, RDM, SMN, DRK, DNC, MNK, RNG. NIN's not up to 75 yet, and DRK's not up to 36, but that's my preferred order of jobs and subjobs. Any selection from that list is ok, though, as far as I'm concerned. (10/03/02 23:37)
Demandred > For jobs to 99, WAR and MNK will probably be tops, I'll likely look at WHM, BLM, and SMN. As posted on Cydori's page, the list of "to 50s" are: NIN40, SAM44, SCH39, DNC29, THF40; starting with THF is fine by me. (10/03/02 23:45)
Nimbex > I've taken care of essential shopping, and thus can revise my list: RNG, THF, SCH, WAR, RDM, SMN, DNC, DRK, MNK, SAM, PLD, SMN. In any event, just tell me what you want me to be, and I'll do that. Shadowneko as initial voke, Dem as puller (or me), Dem as SATA onto main-tank Morlock, and Klaital or Karlinn mainhealing, with the other nuking and backup-healing. Sounds good to me. (10/03/04 08:21)
Nimbex > I'll lean toward RNG for now, then, since we have a SATA and dual tankage. Should give me the best opportunity to unload at a distance. (10/03/08 09:50)
Nimbex > Cross SAM off my list. It's 50 now. I'll continue to plan on RNG each week until it's 50, but if you need something else on a particular week, let me know a couple of days in advance. (10/03/15 09:36)
Nimbex > haha, I have SMN on the list twice! >.> (10/03/23 08:52)

So, now that we have concluded another XP static to L40 it is time to consider what to do next. I believe everyone has jobs to level, so we'll have to find a mix that works.

My job preferences are as follows (priority order): BLU (13) / WHM (21) / BLM (22) / DRK (10)
Nimbex Job preferences were: PUP (10) / BLU (10)
Karlinn: DRK (??) <-- Karlinn, you really should update your profile some time.
Demandred: DNC (29) / BST (10) / SMN (67)
Klaital: BRD (25) / PUP (10) / DRK (33) / RDM (29)
Shadowneko: xxx (YY)

It would appear that Nimbex or I can handle Tanky tank duty this time around, though I will probably need to learn a bit more about how to do it well. Anyway, post some preferences and we'll start kicking some more ass!

---- EDIT ----
Added Klaital / Demandred job options. It is amusing to me that we may have 3 pet jobs this time around.... at which point, I may feel obligated to come as a pet job ... but I digress ;)

Looking this over, it would seem that we need Shadowneko's input, but we can start thinking about this stuff without him.

option 1: Mor-BLU / Nim-PUP / Kar-DRK / Dem-DNC / Klai-RDM / (Neko-healer/tank)
option 2: Mor-WHM / Nim-BLU / Kar-DRK / Dem-BST / Klai-RDM / (Neko-DD)

Option 1 would have Klaital as our main healer until the party hits 15 where Demandred can augment. This group will not have access to a WHM automaton since that requires PUP 40+ in order to open the WHM head piece. I tend to think that build is a little shaky given the non-traditional tank. If Neko were to come as PLD, SCH, WHM, SMN or NIN, we'd be set.

Option 2 would work well for pretty much any Neko job, though we would like to see Neko come as a heavy DD job in that case.

Feel free to post additional thoughts.

Cealia > if you end up having an extra spot i have some jobby jobs i'd like to level. since i just got laid off a second time from the same place >.> (they decided to just kill the entire news dept this time) (10/02/22 13:58)
Demandred > If tank duty has been taken care of, I have two jobs I'd like to try out. BST7 (I can get it up to 10) or my DNC29 (which I do want/need as a subjob). I should also consider my SMN67 in there to get it some regular xp. (10/02/22 20:38)
Klaital > My jobs, in any order: BRD, PUP, DRK, RDM. DRK and RDM maybe slight preference, so that I can NIN/DRK and PLD/RDM eventually. No rush on that, though. (10/02/22 22:30)
Klaital > Oh, sorry, failed to list job *levels*. BRD25, PUP8 (would level it to at least 10 before we started), RDM29, DRK33. (10/02/22 22:32)
Morlock > if we need to take a week to do more alternate stuff so that people can get to Level 10, I am happy to be the level synch at SCH... (10/02/23 07:00)
Nimbex > Sounds like I'm happy either way. Once BST hits 23, they are pretty much the most powerful DD available up until 40. BLU seems tolerably able to tank (with backup) from 10 to 40. So, just let me know what you want me on. (10/02/23 08:40)
Shadowneko > Summoner 75(merit points)/Ranger 19(need more gill)/BLM 19 and Dragoon. My main focus is however on trying to merit THF and summoner up to par ^^ (10/02/23 09:42)
Morlock > it occurs to me that I am on travel this weekend so we'll be off for a week.... Nimbex will determine job allocation this week .... (10/02/23 19:34)
Nimbex > I'm not going to be around this coming Friday, March 5. I'm currently BLU13, though, so if Morlock wants to keep BLU at 13, we can BLU together starting Friday March 12, perhaps. Neither of us really want to have gimped BLU skill, but skilling up BLU solo is REALLY easy, just spamming pollen. (10/03/01 14:24)
Fait > Fait is around this Friday most likely if filling in is needed! (10/03/01 15:52)

More squishy bird XP

Week 2 (19 Feb):

Demandred: Melee-DD
Karlinn: RDM
Klaital: NIN (or PLD) <- Tanky tank
Morlock: PUP
Shadowneko: SMN
Nimbex: RNG <-- Synch Target

This build should get us to Nimbex RNG 40. We can decide this week if we wish to continue with a few more Colibri XP runs (synching to Klaital-SCH and Morlock-SCH) or if we wish to start new jobs. I would be fine if either Klaital or myself used these jobs to help Cydori's static so that she could push SAM into the higher level Colibri camp (obviously, Cydori will be suffering serious Great Katana skill atrophy - but that is easy enough to remedy).

Once we finish with this series of XP runs, I would be open to running a few BCNM / KSNMs for those who would like them prior to starting into another XP run. IIRC Karlinn still needs to get an Utsu: Ni, and I am sure there are plenty of us who would enjoy doing a few for fun and profit - this time around, I am thinking YOYD will be the rule of the day, pool / split seemed to cause too much paperwork (definitely open to discussion on that point).

Also, people should think about which jobs they want to work on this time through.
Nimbex > Since Morlock can't make it, I'm going to post up on my own CTY. (10/02/19 08:48)

So . . . looks like we have ~3 - 4 weeks of Colibri XP camps to play with. The build we discussed last friday looked like a recipe for disaster. Here is something that should work pretty well, and achieve our early objectives.

Week 1 (12 Feb):
Demandred: SCH <-- Synch Target
Karlinn: RDM
Klaital: NIN (or PLD) <- Tanky tank
Morlock: PUP
Shadowneko: THF
Nimbex: RNG <-- alternate synch

We will swap Week 2 to Synching to either Nimbex, Klaital, or Morlock depending upon what makes sense for capping off Subjobs to L40.

A new year, and new stuff to do!

It's been at least a week, and probably longer, that the Tuesday (WotG) and Friday (XP) statics have met, so I thought I would post a recap / reminder for people.

Regarding WotG: I have sent a personal email to Drydin, since we have not seen / heard from him in the last few weeks, I can only conclude that he is unable or unwilling to continue joining us on Tuesdays. My recommendation will be that we help a Fait-taru with a CoP run this week and then start making progress starting 11 Jan 2010.

Regarding XP Static: My understanding is that Shadowneko is physically unable to play FFXI for a while. I have asked Elizara if she would be willing to come and get Neko XP/merit points for the friday static. Assuming Neko agrees, we will have F-Shadowneko (played by Elizara). Zone TBD on Friday.

Regarding Salvage: You can see below, the interested persons and times. Right now, we're well short of critical mass, so, I am still looking for people. If you're interested, talk to me in game, and I will set it up.

Hope everyone had a great holiday break!!!
See you all in game on tuesday.
Elizara > Neko wouldn't object to me playing his chara for xp. Missions on the other hand... (Tho I have been bringing his chara in for dynamis for now. Hopefully this will become a not-issue after today, but we shall see.) (10/01/06 10:17)
Cealia > just out of curiousity, what cop and what wotg mission are you guys on? (10/01/06 14:08)
Morlock > We're on mission Betrayal at Beaucedine. The only quest line everyone is not 'up-to-furthest possible point (i.e all nation quests completable)' on is the Sandy one, we're on Bonds That Never Die (10/01/09 16:02)
Morlock > Regarding CoP - our static finished that quite a while ago, Nimbex is running Fait through CoP - they are currently on CoP: 8-2, expect they will complete that within the next 24 hours (10/01/09 16:04)
Demandred > Cealia: I should note that there are still other CTYers in need of CoP. I think Requin, Shadowneko and Vaudian still need it(?) at a minimum. (10/01/10 02:23)
Sivara > Khaless is on CoP 4-2. (10/01/10 15:32)
Kireila > FaitFest 2010 is now over! Grats to Fait for finishing CoP! (10/01/10 19:36)

Hello Everyone. I am gaging interest in setting up a salvage static for people. If you are interested, please post your name and times you may be available. I will consider us at critical mass once we hit 7 people with interest on a common set of nights.

For those who are unaware of what salvage is, here is a link:
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Salvage

I will plan on doing a points / priorities based system, but at this time, I do not have full details worked out.

If you are interested, post it, and I will work something up.

Klaital: MON / WED (evenings)
Nimbex: SUN / MON / WED / THR (evening) // SAT (early)
Drydin: appears to have disappeared ; ;
Scion: availability unknown
Morlock: availability sucks
Demandred: potential REP on rare occasions
Fait: Friday/Sunday

(need 3 - 4 more committed people)

Current thought is MON / WED => 7 or 8 PM Chicago Time start
Point system in works

Klaital > Monday and Wednesday are my only free nights currently. Could be Friday once our current XP group finishes as well. (09/12/12 12:27)
Drydin > Monday thru Friday 6:30pm till 11 pm est saturday, whenever i wake up till i lay down, sunday whenever i wake up till 11pm est. (09/12/12 13:11)
Nimbex > My general availability is like 6p to 11p Central M-F (minus Tuesday missioning / Friday EXPing), Saturday 9a to 2:51p, Sunday any time not during Limbus. I'm open to casual or intense schedules, and am fairly interested in getting back to Salvage. I have WHM as my only useful job for Salvage. (09/12/18 09:15)
Nimbex > When people are relatively the same for attendance, it makes sense to give everyone approximately an equal number of drops, I think. When people show up at different rates, they probably should get a proportional amount of drops to their attendance. 35s are the only drops which really matter. 25s can be gotten in advance of 35s, or in response to 35s, but only 35s really represent the drops of a zone. And maybe the special 15s. (09/12/18 09:32)
Cealia > i think jahn's trying to do this same thing. maybe you could work together? (09/12/18 15:59)
Kireila > Seeing as how Jahn's group is more EU/US-afternoon oriented, and seeing as how Morlock is planning for an evening group, it would probably not be feasible to merge both groups unless Jahn decides he wants to stay up late for Salvage. Also, Morlock, you don't have to be as... intensive as some groups, but 1-2 nights/week is still a decent amount of Salvage time for all you busy types. ^_~ (09/12/18 16:20)
Cealia > i'm interested. (09/12/19 12:47)
Fait > I'm interested, and despite being nearer Jahn's timezone, yours is more convenient for my schedual. I guess Friday/Sunday evenings are currently my free times. (10/01/10 14:24)

Hey People. So, we're lacking a Nimbex this week, so, I would like to do an alternate XP build on Friday Evening. My personal preference is to get PUP (L65 - 66) XP and I do not mind level synching to L55+. Regular group, please post your job preferences and we'll go from there.

Morlock: PUP (65)
Demandred: MNK (68) or SMN (58)
Klaital: THF (67) or NIN (61)
Shadowneko: SMN (74)
Karlinn: RDM (75)
(OPEN SLOT: Cealia or Negata . . . ?)

Demandred > I would like MNK (68) or SMN (58 - as a support/DD, as I can't main heal well at that level). For Klaital, THF (67) or NIN (61) - either way. (09/11/30 22:53)
Nimbex > I should be back ready to RNGinate this week! (09/12/07 16:47)
Morlock > back to beetles for us, I expect I will be coming in closer to start time (like 8:10 PM or so) since I will have class on friday (09/12/08 08:46)
Cealia > oh oops. if i had seen this in time i would've come! (09/12/11 22:12)

Well, we cleared Nimbex DRG to L40 among other things. We will now be back at the beginning (L10). We will be working under the assumption that Negata may eventually come back into the rotation as BLU, however, it seems that when people take a 'break' it tends to be for quite a while . . . so, that in mind, here is the job loadout:

Nimbex: RNG (or other DD)
Klaital: Melee-DD / co-tank
Shadowneko: SMN
Karlinn: NIN
Demandred: SCH
Morlock: SCH
----------
Negata: BLU (alternate)
----------
Cealia: BST / WHM (back-up alternate)

My suspicion is that we will have about 1 - 2 weeks a month when we need a person or two to fill in. We will again use Nimbex as the reference point, so, everyone is expected to keep pace with him. Other than that, I am looking forward to a new and exciting experience ...
Cealia > if it's level 10, i also have SMN and BLM for those levels. (09/11/02 13:39)
Morlock > I am expecting that this week is fully accounted for (and therefore we'll be above L10). I will note the BLM availability, though I thought you were concentrating on capping BST / WHM. (09/11/03 11:25)
Cealia > i am concentrating on capping those; but if they don't work with the party, i wanted to give you a few more options. (09/11/04 02:52)
Karlinn > Just a quick reminder, Mor: might be late to tonight's static. Should be in by the usual time, but may be cutting it close. Will be on ASAP (09/11/13 07:45)
Ennui > Ty for letting me join in on the Daughter of a Knight run, been needing that for ages. If there is room for Nation on the Brink, I have all of the CSs done for it. (09/11/18 22:49)

Hey People . . .
It now appears that the Friday XP static is nice a full of people! This pleases me greatly. We're at 7, I mean *8* O.o! people who are interested and I would like to accommodate people as much as possible.

Friday 30 Oct and probably 6 Nov:
Level Synch to Nimbex DRG ~36 and do East Ronfaire (s)
Participants: Nimbex (DRG), Klaital (COR), Morlock (PUP), Negata (BLU or NIN), Neko (SMN), Demandred (SMN), Karlinn (RDM)

Our final Goal is Nimbex DRG -> 40
As I anticipate that someone in the above group may find themselves otherwise occupied, we'll determine the final party composition by Wednesday next week.

Beyond that we have options . . .
Meritz: Karlinn (RDM), Demandred (WAR or WHM), Klaital (SAM), Morlock (SAM), Negata (DRG), Neko (THF):: Nimbex has officially stated that he would be uninterested in doing extended merits. We will likely make meriting a plan for when Nimbex is unavailable.
L60+ Static (seems like we have several of us working projects in that range)
In order for L60+ to work well, I think we would want to take a week to help Negata pick up some of his BLU spells - they really are a serious PITA to grab at that level.
Low level static: Really would want to build around Karlinn (NIN) - I will be asking Nimbex / Klaital for some assistance on what the next low level static should look like.

Feel free to post up some of your comments and such.
Cealia > i feel all forgotten :( (09/10/24 14:03)
Morlock > Cealia, sorry . . . I am having a difficult enough time rotating through the people who are or have been regular members already who are all appearantly doing well enough to continue (this is the thing I find suprising). If we had 4 more bodies, we'd have enough for *2* regular XP statics, which is well beyond my ability to coordinate cleanly. Also, I still associate your availability with somewhat odd hours and therefore consider Friday to be a mild inconvenience. I am going to work this on a week / week basis and go from there. (09/10/26 09:58)
Cealia > okay. as i'm jobless, i'm pretty much open any night except saturday and wednesdays cause of dynamis. (09/10/26 20:13)
Negata > Might volunteer to sit out this week. Still feeling burnt out on FFXI atm. (09/10/30 06:10)

Wow, such a nice problem to have . . . excess people for the friday XP static. So, the way I see it, we have two viable options for this week:

Option 1:
Merits: Demandred: WAR/NIN || Klaital: SAM/NIN || Morlock: SAM/NIN* || Karlinn: RDM/WHM || Shadowneko: THF/NIN || Negata: DRG/NIN

*in this case I would strongly consider /DNC so that we had some decent back-up healing available

Option 2:
~L50 Party: Negata: BLU/xxx || Morlock: PUP/xxx || Karlinn: RDM/WHM || Shadowneko: SMN/WHM || Demandred: SMN/WHM || Klaital: *Melee job* (THF/xxx)

Ideally we synch to L54 so that Dem / Negata get to have capped skills this week.

I personally prefer Option 2, since the build looks a bit more solid, however, I am pretty well open to whatever the group wants to do. Since I will be in early tomorrow (7:30 PM) I can regear on the spot. This means that the rest of you must come up with an opinion ;)
Nimbex > I think I'm going to be missing yet again, on Friday, October 23. Hold up for me for 10/30 for DRGing, if you can. If not, I understand. (09/10/15 09:12)
Morlock > Should be no problem, we'll probably just stick with the same party build this week. As an aside, I am thinking that having 7 regulars with a rotational slot may not be a bad bet, since Negata and Nimbex both seem to be potential missing persons on a given week and Karlinn I think also has other compelling things to do in the evening. I will have to ponder that a bit more to be sure. Also, I wonder what the XP hit would be if we went from 6 - 7 people (another thing that I will have to review, I suppose). I will give the logistics some thought and post ideas as they come to me. (09/10/15 11:18)
Nimbex > 7 is appallingly bad for EXP, I do believe. There are tables on ffxi.somepage.com, and probably on the wiki, as well. (09/10/15 13:51)
Cealia > mor? apparently you didn't see my comment down below. i guess you'd rather have RDM. (09/10/15 15:06)
Morlock > Cealia, I did see your comment, however, I spoke with Karlinn and confirmed his slot prior to seeing your post, also he fits my needs better. Apologies, though, given that this is appearantly an open time slot for you, I will consider you an interested alternate since we do have an obscene amount of flux in this party. (09/10/15 16:39)
Demandred > I <3 the SMN xp (more buffer is always nice). That said, I also <3 the merits. I can gear WAR faster on the fly, but SMN is not overly difficult as it doesn't gear swap heavily yet. I am fine either way. (09/10/15 19:13)
Demandred > Option 2 it is, it seems! (09/10/15 20:07)
Morlock > Option 2. Will confirm final level (50 or 54) tomorrow evening (09/10/15 21:07)

Hello Peeps.

This week on "Morlock's Statics" I will discuss the Friday XP static. This friday we're down to: Morlock / Shadowneko / Klaital / Demandred
I am wondering if any alternate activities should be in the works. The 4 of us could certainly make up a higher level (60-ish) group on friday and look for two more people, or we could do some BCNMs, etc. Please post your interest in these activities.

In the 'long' term, we find ourselves short a player on Fridays (again) so I have an open slot . . . talk to me if you're interested. We are also nearing the end of our current static loadout, and should seriously consider what our next plan of attack should be. I know a number of different ideas have been thrown out there, I am just hoping that we can come to a concensus.

A recap for you all on ideas that have been posted:
1 - take another set of jobs from L10 - L40 (you need to actually post some job preferences)
2 - take jobs from 40+ for about 2 months (I will not kid anyone into thinking that I will seriously organize another 40 - 75 static, it's too much of a committment)
3 - other activities that are worth doing - post it up, see if we can get critical mass

Anyway, post up thoughts both on this week, as well as longer term.
Nimbex > I'm reasonably open to taking PUP or BLU from 10 to 40; they're both 10 now. I'd be able to do most of my DRG 36->40 on Friday, October 23, I think! (09/10/13 13:56)
Karlinn > Hup hup! Count me in! Could always stand for a few RDM merits, and I need to take NIN to at least a respectable sub level. While I've got work Saturdays, I'm good from about 8-11cst on Fridays. (09/10/13 21:15)
Shadowneko > My focus is get summoner to 75 and merit both that and THF. I am howver toying with some low level jobs....but if I have to cap down again to get the last 5 levels of Summoner I will do so... (09/10/14 13:57)
Cealia > if you need a WHM, i would like to join it with mine.. (09/10/14 14:04)
Demandred > I'm interested in a 10-40 for my SCH or DNC (both are ready to go). I am willing (and ready) to sync SMN and WHM to fill in slots, and both of those could do high level xp. Someday, PLD 26 should see the light of day since I can be a tank again (10-40 of course).. For other activities, may I suggest Assault to get our rank ups and/or Nyzul? (09/10/14 20:14)
Negata > So uhhhhhh today I found out that the Saturday course I wanted to take has been canceled since not enough people signed up for it... (09/10/15 04:03)
Cealia > thanks mor. (09/10/15 18:35)

Our Tuesday group ran through the completion of the last strictly RoZ fight . . . it was an interesting event.

The Team:
Demandred: WAR/NIN
Drydin: DRK/NIN
Karlinn: RDM/BLM
Klaital: PLD/NIN
Morlock: SAM/NIN
Nimbex: WHM/SCH

As is customary for our group - we got to the battlefield and spent a few minutes discussing tactics. It was appearant that a "Dry" run was necessary - so we went in without planning to use our 2-hours, just to get a feel for how the fight would go. The first boss went down fairly easily . . . I think only Nimbex died before we were onto the main event with our teleporting boss. We were resting up and he came to us (rather unsportsmanlike if you ask me). After a couple minutes of us holding on rather precariously . . . Nimbex died (a second time) and then the rest of the party started falling . . . well, except for Drydin who was opening a serious can of whoopass on the boss, and me. I had tried to back away in the hopes of pulling the boss with me. The boss basically stunned / binded me and left me there to watch the carnage. I stood (bound) there as Drydin basically singlehandedly beat the boss down. It was a thing of abject beauty. It got a little dicey at the end but we completed the mission on our "Dry" run.

I was then forced to view the most unpleasant cutscene in all of Final Fantasy - my screams of extreme angst were heard far and wide. After we exited the CS I was treated to watching Drydin dance upon the corpses of the rest of the team (for like 10 minutes while Klaital HP'd to come raise everyone).

Next week, the team will be climbing Promies with the intent of grabbing our key items for AN. We are not planning to do anything other than assemble -> get in -> get out. If you have need to complete this activity, feel welcome to join us. The following week we will run AN.

After that I have confirmed Drydin's intent to run WotG with our team. My plan is to push people through all three quest lines (they are all compelling) at the same time. It will require a bit of homework, but I believe it is doable and should be enjoyable. At this time, I expect to have 1 open slot, if there is any interest let me know.

Also, still looking to fill a slot on friday XP . . . tap me if you're interested.
Klaital > With Drydin in the crew, is there really any point to trying to have anyone else tank? Thanks to Catastrophe, his survivability is way higher than my PLD ^^; (09/09/30 16:17)
Kireila > more like "Dry"din run, amirite? <3 Drydin. Also, /comfort Morlock. (09/09/30 17:11)
