Nif, Yosa, and I helped Cyd and Tharp finish off their Shantotto avatar fights this evening. Previously I'd poked the Goblin in Port Jeuno for a new set of Seals so I could get a Bird Key. You only have to turn in 3 of the Counterseals to get the Key and if there was a chance I might be doing the fights anyways why not? It came as a surprise that I got 400xp per fight with a new set of Seals. That beat the socks off of the crappy Waistebelt that NPC'ed for less than 2k gil that the Bird Key gave me >.>

Nif and I made the necessary zone reservations for FI's Christmas Brenner / Party, so we're all set for that o.ob I finished getting my gift together for my Secret Santa. I'm hoping to earn a "What the hell, Beanie" at very least :D

After several breaks I managed to make my next rank item for Alchemy. It's not the Alchemy that's killing me so much as the lacking Smithing sub >.o; I really need to get my Smithing into the 40s-50s so I can make a wider range of turn in items. I still scoff at how many Mythril-based synths are Smithing instead of Goldsmithing. That's really rubbing me the wrong way since if they were the latter I'd be golden (no pun intended, really ;3 )

And thanks to the cats waking me up at their customary 5am I've gotten in a bit of Fishing and Alchemy skill up. This whole fishing in Qufim for skill-ups plan is working out swimmingly. It's totally self-sustaining since I can thump a nearby Thunder Elemental whenever I need more Lightning crystals. Even better? Once I hit Fishing 78 the rank up fish is... wait for it... Three-Eyed Fish >.> I'll toss one of these babies on mule and be set when I get there (since I sincerely hope to get 4 levels of Alchemy faster than 18 levels of Fishing...)
